The route travels the Colorado River Canyon just below Moab, follows a spectacular part of Kane Springs Canyon, climbs the Kane Creek anticline to Hurrah Pass, and descends to benches above the Colorado River. The trail dead-ends at Chicken Corners about 400 feet above the river across from Dead Horse Point.
Gemini Bridges • Rated 2 – Sponsored by INEOS Grenadier Arrowhead
The trail covers a region between US Highway 191 and SR 313, reaches some grand vistas, and accesses numerous other trails. The highlight is the spectacular twin arch, called Gemini Bridges, on the rim of an arm of Bull Canyon.
Lost World • Rated 3 – Sponsored by
This trail passes Dubinky Well and goes in between Rainbow Terrace and Lost World Butte. It proceeds into the area southeast of Ten-mile Canyon, passing several arches and stunning landscapes.
Buttes and Towers • Rated 3 - Sponsored by Evictus Suspension Systems
This beautiful trail visits the scenic Courthouse Pasture area northwest of Moab to provide participants with a relaxing, moderate 4wheeling experience along with picturesque views and vistas of the beautiful reddish Entrada rock formations that are plentiful in this area. The La Sal Mountain peaks serve as a backdrop. There are many old trails in this area and this trip combines segments of them to create a pleasant and varied experience.
Fallen Officers Trail • Rated 3- Sponsored by Voyager Outdoors
This trail is just north of Arches National Park and overlooks the park and the Klondike Bluffs. Watch for dinosaur prints along the trail. If this trail is wet, it can be more difficult than when dry.
Backwards Bill Trail • Rated 5- Sponsored by Warner INEOS Grenadier
This trail combines the second half of the Wipe-Out Hill Trail and the first half of the Seven-mile Rim Trail for a more challenging trip that retains much of the scenic highlights of both. Participants need to be aware that all vehicles must ascend Wipe-Out Hill; there is no bypass.
Fins and Things • Rated 4-5- Sponsored by Overland Gear Guy
Fins and Things is a one-way trail. It starts 1.9 miles from the Sand Flats Entrance Station (5 miles from downtown Moab), beside campsite ‘E-6’ in Echo Campground. For trailer parking, please park prior to this on the south side of Sand Flats Road 1.4 miles from Entrance Station. OHVs are permitted on the Sand Flats Road. The trail is marked with metal signs and white symbols painted on the slickrock surface. Due to hazardous terrain, it is recommended only for experienced drivers.
3D trail • Rated 4-5 -Sponsored by JC's British
The 3D Trail Moab tours the vicinity of colorful Hidden Canyon and Brink Spring, exploring the canyon bottom, canyon rim, and a higher overlook of the area. The trail features a mix of sand and rocks, with some challenging hills and obstacles. The trail is suitable for stock vehicles, but some sections may require four-wheel drive and high clearance.
7 Mile Rim • Rated 4–5-Sponsored by RRE Global
Many beautiful overlooks and interesting rock formations including Corral Canyon, Monitor and Merrimac Buttes, Determination Towers, Uranium Arch, and Courthouse Rock. The drive itself is interesting as the terrain changes from slick rock to sagebrush to wash bottom. Most of the trail is moderate with just a few difficult spots. Some stock vehicles with very high ground clearance and good articulation can manage this trail. A tough section down to Uranium Arch can be avoided by simply viewing the arch from above. One spot near Merrimac Butte tilts sideways to an extreme degree. The trail can be made much more difficult by driving optional Wipe Out Hill which requires lockers or a winch to get back up.
Behind the Rocks (Tip-Toe) • Rated 5-Sponsored by
The Tip-Toe route is designed for drivers with a 5-rated skill level, allowing them to experience the area's dramatic scenery with less risk of vehicle damage compared to the more extreme 8+ rated version. The trail features sandy dirt with occasional rock outcrops and minor drainage crossings that require some technique to navigate with stock equipment. It is also used for 4WD Skills Day events, where participants focus on training with various terrain and obstacles rather than completing the entire trail, learning about vehicle dynamics, approach and departure angles, and recovery procedures.
Hell’s Revenge • Rating 5 - Sponsored by Lyle Pearson INEOS Grenadier
The trail is as beautiful as it is confusing. It has a high vantage point with beautiful views of the La Sal Mountains and Grandstaff Canyon to the east and, from the overlook, the Colorado River. The area is also known for the Slickrock Bike Trail which draws avid bikers from all over the world. The biking trail, which is marked with painted white dashed lines crosses the 4-wheel trail several times. Be very careful at the crossing points. We do not offer the following obstacles at Grenadier Oktoberfest: The Escalator, Hell’s Gate, The Staircase, and The Devil’s Hot tub. These obstacles are bypassed for safety and insurance reasons.
Poison Spider Mesa • Rating 6 - Sponsored by Agile Off-Road
Poison Spider Mesa forms one of the cliff features that is part of the Moab landscape northwest of town. The mesa is bordered on the east by Moab Valley and on the south by the Colorado River. Access is via Scenic Byway 279.
Metal Masher • Rating 7 - Sponsored by Metal Cloak
The route first angles up the sloping part of the cliff to a gap in the rim rock. It follows Little Canyon partway into the mesa to resume the climb along the more gentle slope of the tilting rock strata. Much of the trail is routine four-wheeling, but the approach to the rim through Mirror Gulch is difficult and threatens sheet metal. Later in the trip Widow-maker Hill has become so extreme your leader will take a roundabout bypass to the top. Approximate mileages: 66 total, 46 off pavement.
